Black Down Summit and Viewpoint

Highlight • Natural Monument

Beautiful sights with a 360° field of view. The top constitutes a fairly large and wooded area where one can discover many small wonders of nature. Special mention if you have the chance to go up there after a fresh snowfall in the winter.

A pretty country pub nestled in the rolling countryside of the South Downs. The Duke of Cumberland Arms serves elegant pub meals with local produce. Expect rustic decoration, big oak tables and low ceilings. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the bar area.

Part of a 251-acre (101.4 ha) Site of Special Scientific Interest, Northpark Copse's mosses and liverworts are vestiges of an era five millenia ago when Britain's climate was much warmer and wetter. The site is close to the hamlet of Henley in the South Downs National Park and the long-distance Serpent Trail runs along its southern fringes.

The snake stones are part of a sculpture trail on Woolbeding Common. While they aren't very big, they are beautifully done and a lovely surprise along the way.

Woolbeding Common Viewpoint

Highlight • Natural Monument

Far reaching views from the bench at the Woolbeding Common viewpoint. Across to Titty Hill and towards the South Downs. It really is an exceptional view and a short walk from the car park so perfect for those who prefer to or can walk short distances.
