Despite the rain, we start our hike in the sweet chestnut village of Mammolshain.

Here, sweet chestnut discovery trails have been created. Three circular routes of varying lengths lead through Mammolshain, to the Hardtberg hill, and into the Kronthal valley.

We don't climb the Hardtberg tower because the rain obscures the view.

This was my first hike in a long time after my knee injury, so no steep slopes, the hike was ok, but I think it's nicer in the summer. There was snow and it was very gray with fog.... but we then drove to Feldberg and there we were met with great weather ☀️.
