Single Trail Between Nixenwehr and Railway Underpass

Highlight • Trail

You should wear sturdy shoes, long pants, and long sleeves, as the bushes and grasses grow up to 1.5 meters tall in summer and the path is very narrow. However, the untouched nature with its numerous old deciduous trees (mainly oaks and alders) is very interesting. It's worth it! If you don't like this or aren't very good on foot, you can take the alternative path on the other side of the Malxe River by the dog sports field.

Euloer Nixenwehr

Highlight • Structure

According to the dedication sign on the Euloer Nixenwehr, the weir and the decorative mermaid with the tail of glass splinters were built in 1966. At some point the upper body of the mermaid disappeared. Incidentally, the figure and especially the face was not a lovely beauty à la Walt Disney's Ariel.
In 2010, the remaining tail was given a new torso as part of a BQS employment measure.
Even then, a clever depiction of the old mermaid was sought, but without success.
Since the weir and the Euloer ponds were and are a popular excursion destination, there should be one or two photos of the old mermaid. Maybe this time it will be possible to get a view with this call.

Singers' Bench

Highlight • Monument

Today, members of the Museum Association of the City of Forst (Lausitz) e.V. put the singer's bench back in place. The area was significantly enhanced with sculptures made from the tree remains by a woodcarver from Klein Jamno. It has become a real gem. Thanks to all donors!

There's space for about 8 to 10 cars, free of charge, and no time limit. It's a good starting point for shorter and longer hikes to the Eulo Ponds and in the direction of Mulknitz, Klein, and Groß Jamno.
