Binsey Summit

Highlight • Viewpoint

Small but mighty! Binsey is (in my opinion) the easiest of all the 214 Wainwrights to climb. It does still offer wonderful views across Lakeland though. Binsey is a great viewing platform of the Northern Fells of the Lake District National Park. The easiest approach is from the small parking area 'east-south-east' of the summit.

View of Over Water

Highlight • Viewpoint

Over Water, beneath Binsey, is a secluded natural tarn and reservoir near the village of Ireby

Binsey Parking Area

Highlight • Parking

Not a lot of spaces. When I arrived on a Sunday at about 1pm. There was luckily a space.

Nice little hike up Binsey with my Dad, Lily the dog and the little one. Rainbows, low flying military aircraft and sumptuous views of Skiddaw and beyond Bassenthwaite Lake.

Day 4.B. Binsey. 1 Wainwright.

There is small car park and a few parking spots at the start point on a back country road at the bottom of Binsey. Simply park there go through the side gate and follow the path to the trig pointed summit and come back down to the start point. As simple as that.
