The name is no coincidence: in 1943 the Yugoslav People's Liberation Army under Josip Tito succeeded in destroying the Axis powers. And that despite the fact that around 18,000 partisans had to defend themselves against a superior force of 128,000 enemy soldiers. So it is not surprising that an impressive monument was dedicated to the Yugoslav fighters. The monument is reminiscent of two gigantic hands that stretch towards the sky.
