The small hill was created after the Second World War. It is the higher of the two Unterföhringer rubble mountains from the Second World War and is also called "Hypoberg".
Debris, mainly from Schwabing, was dumped here using a lorry train. The route to the viewing point also follows the course of this railway. From there you have a view over Munich all the way to the Alps.

The now almost illegible inscription reads: "In memory of the construction workers who drowned on June 18, 1924 during the construction of the Isar bridge due to a ferry accident." 12 workers died in the accident.
