Natural hiking trail along the Eppinger Line on the still clearly visible defense line. There is also a large biotope in this section.

South construction of the fortifications on the Eppinger line. The sophisticated integration into nature is convincing again and again. Also known as the southern exit of the Mordor von Mühlacker.

Trail on the Eppingen Lines Rampart

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

A path runs along the Epping Line rampart. It runs parallel to the main hiking trail, but is considerably shadier. The moat, which was once lined with sharpened wooden stakes, runs alongside. The path also passes a chartaque that no longer exists, the location of which is clearly identifiable by the surrounding ditch. A sign here also provides information about the Epping Line. Please note that this is also a mountain bike trail.

The World Heritage site Maulbronn Monastery is considered one of the best-preserved medieval monastery complexes north of the Alps. The Cistercian imprint on the architecture and the surrounding cultural landscape are almost perfectly preserved. Therefore, when visiting, one should not only see the monastery itself but also explore the surroundings through a short hike or as part of a bike tour.

The settlement history of Lienzingen stretches back over 2000 years. The town is located on an old transport route that was already used by the Romans. From the early Middle Ages to modern times, one of the most important and busiest trade routes from southern Germany to the Main ran through the town. The historic town center is particularly impressive.

February 24, 2024,Kloster Maulbronn – Lienzingen Runde von Mühlacker
Nice round, even if the paved paths predominated on the way back from Maulbronn. Shortly before the destination there was a "dead end" but I didn't feel like walking through swamps AND thickets...

A super nice hike, if it absolutely has to be cut free again in the area of the Eppingerinie in the forest, because fear always runs with a tick, especially since at 30 degrees you don’t necessarily want to hike in long pants

So today again a history-heavy tour ... I started in Maulbronn and followed the Eppinger line to Lienzingen. A super nice trail on the wall of the Eppinger line. I have already walked part of the line at Eppingen. The entire Eppinger Linienweg has a length of 41 km that starts from Eppingen and goes to Mühlacker. Wonderful hiking trails …
