Beautiful ridge trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

From the Rinderalp to the Stanserhorn, the path ends with a nice ridge. From here you have a fantastic view. The ridge path is not narrow or steep and does not require that you are free from giddiness. It's just a very nice section with a great view.

Revolving restaurant in Central Switzerland since 2001
In 2001, the first revolving restaurant in Central Switzerland was opened on the Stanserhorn. Inspired by the five-star mountain Stanserhorn, the revolving restaurant was built in a star-shaped layout. The revolving restaurant has space for 200 guests, 80 of whom can sit on the revolving plate and watch the panorama pass by in 43 minutes. From Sunday to Wednesday evening, we are happy to serve you at an exclusive evening event for 50 people or more.

Stanserhorn Summit

Highlight • Summit

Stanserhorn is a 1897 m high mountain in the canton of Nidwalden. The Stanserhorn is located between the towns of Stans, Ennetmoos, Kerns, Dallenwil and Oberdorf, south of Lake Lucerne. The Stanserhorn offers an outstanding view of ten Swiss lakes and 100 km of the Alps. You can particularly enjoy this 360-degree view on the 30-minute Stanserhorn circular trail. Why a place of power? At the highest point of the Stanserhorn (1898 m above sea level), bundled basic rays gather from three sides. The point with the maximum noticeable power effect can be found near the fireplace in a southeasterly direction.

The path leads mostly through the forest, but he also gives views again and again with a beautiful view. The paths are different demanding. Since the path is in the forest, it is usually wet and sometimes a bit slippery. Further up there are also some narrower passages, which require a little bit of headache, respectively, they are not extremely narrow, but the precipice is quite steep, which could not be particularly pleasant with fear of heights.

Stans - Kälti (Stanserhornbahn middle station)
Of the old funicular railway to the Stanserhorn, only the first section from Stans to Kälti still exists today. The upper two sections were replaced by a cable car in 1975.
The railway from Stans to Kälti with the two faithfully reconstructed wooden carriages is the last remaining part of a system of technical significance that was built at the end of the 19th century with three sections and a gradient of up to 63% to access the Stanserhorn. The Stanserhornbahn was a joint project of the mountain railway pioneers and hotel kings Franz Josef Bucher-Durrer and Josef Durrer-Gasser and the company Bell & Cie. The first section that has been preserved is a classic funicular railway with Abt's siding, which is considered a prototype in terms of the use of the brake caliper system based on the Bucher-Durrer principle. The loss of the Hotel Stanserhorn due to a fire in 1970 and the replacement of the two upper sections of the funicular with an aerial cableway in 1975 has increased the importance of the first section as a testimony to an important era in the history of tourism in Central Switzerland. The cableway is maintained in an exemplary manner according to monument conservation standards.
