Small idyllic harbor of Casier.
Nice to watch the goings on here from the quay.

Cimitero dei Burci (Burci Cemetery)

Highlight • Historical Site

The Burci cemetery is an archaeological site in the province of Treviso, located in the municipality of Casier, in Veneto, in a bend of the Sile river. The burci cemetery falls within the protected natural area of the regional natural park of the Sile river and houses dozens of abandoned burci (large cargo boats in use in the Venice lagoon).

Burci Boat Cemetery

Highlight • Historical Site

A series of wooden walkways suspended over the water allow you to cross this suggestive and somewhat melancholy bend of the Sile. Here lie the skeletons of the burci, ancient traditional wooden boats used in the past for commercial transport.

Silea Hydroelectric Power Plant

Highlight • Monument

The Silea hydroelectric plant was built in the early 1950s to feed the Burgo paper mill in Mignagola. About 1 straight km of countryside was cut, diverting and shortening the course of the river Sile. With the cut, the island of Villapendola was formed which today has only 4 accesses: the vehicle bridge immediately downstream of the plant, a cycle-pedestrian footbridge at the beginning of the cut, a bridge over the dead branch near Lago Verde and a private path above the dead branch weir.

In operation since 1954, it exploits a water drop of 3.8 m without resorting to penstocks. Driven by two Kaplan turbines, it produces a power of almost 1750 kWh. The electricity produced is fed into the local 15 kV distribution network directly on site. The plant immediately returns the swirled waters back to the Sile river. Downstream of the plant there is a specific climbing ladder for eels and lampreys.

Today it is licensed to SIAD.

In 1753, the current church was built on the pre-existing chapel of the monastery of Saint Peter and Theonist, belonging to the Abbey of San Zeno in Verona.
The facade, painted in ivory tones, is characterized by the presence of four pilasters on high pedestals and with Corinthian capitals. In the center there is a portal with a tympanum with curved dentils. The front ends with a gable with moldings and dentils.
