The Stradner Kogel (609 m above sea level) is one of the highest elevations in southeast Styria. It is of volcanic origin and, like the Gleichenberger Kögel 4 km to the north, belongs to the elongated Trans-Danubian volcanic region, which stretches from Slovenia over the Styrian hill country to Burgenland (see Pauliberg) and finally disappears into the subsurface of the Pannonian lowlands.
