Chapel of Saint Mary Magdalene

Highlight • Religious Site

The chapel is located at the entrance to the palud, an expanse of short grass that goes all the way to the sea, which no road crossed until around 1950. A path leads to an evocation of the alignments of Lestriguiou, located 300 meters northeast of the chapel.

Pointe de la Torche

Highlight • Viewpoint

La pointe de la Torche (Beg to Dorchenn, de son nom breton) and a presqu'île naturelle barrant l'extrémité sud-est de la baie d'Audierne, sur la commune de Plomeur, en pays Bigouden, dans le Finistère, en Brittany.
(Fr.wikipedia.org)

The Pointe de la Torche (short often La Torche) is located in the Cornouaille in Finistère in western Brittany north of Penmarch, in the municipality Plomeur between the headlands Pointe du Raz and Pointe de Penmarc'h. The headland is in danger of becoming an island by sea erosion.
The place is of particular interest to the prehistory. The peninsula was around 5000 BC. Inhabited by Mesolithic fishermen and collectors. In the 1880s, the French archaeologist Paul du Chatellier found the skeleton of a Mesolithic man. On the eponymous headland in the sea is Beg an Dorchenn, a 1946 explored dolmen with side chambers, which was probably extended in the late Neolithic by a passage.
