Plumpton Village Fields

Highlight • Viewpoint

If you decide not to take the beacon you willingly find two other options. The road to Lewes through Westmeston and Plumpton is equally picturesque and less noisy or busy.

Deer and other wildlife can be seen quite often.

The views are fantastic, the roads are quiet and you'll hear very little but the breath of the wind through the trees and the birds singing along.

Highlight (Segment) • Natural

Again, another quieter back lane to Ditchling, most shared with hikers and very few cars. More awesome views to take in before you take on the biggie in a couple of kms (if heading south).

A short but rather lovely ride for a misty autumnal morning taking in Ditchling, Streat, and East Chiltington.
There are some mean potholes on Allington Lane, but it's otherwise pretty reasonable.
