The most beautiful view of the Tyniec Monastery is from the opposite side of the Vistula. From there you can see this rock face with the venerable monastery particularly well.
On sunny days with many tourists you can take a ferry across to the other side.

This rock offers a 360° panoramic view.
The simultaneous view of the Tyniec monastery and the more distant monastery in Bielany is particularly beautiful.
The short, steep ascent is worth it. However, you can also easily get to this rock from the village of Góra.

Piekary Cave

Highlight • Cave

You are in an unusual place. Behind you, on the other side of the Vistula, you can see the Benedictine abbey in Tyniec. On your right side (in front of you) there is a wall. rock, which is the remnant of an old, small quarry. This is the first of the so-called Piekarskie Rocks, which are part of the Tyniec Gate, i.e. the place of a small apparent breakthrough of the Vistula (the river did not cut limestone rocks here, but used the existing tectonic sinkhole).
In the described rock wall you can see a large hole and a tunnel carved in the upper Jurassic limestone. This cavern was established at the end of the 19th century at the behest of the owners of the palace in Piekary and was used to store food. It is quite large: its total length is 68 m. A second opening from the north used to lead to it, but now it is walled up.

A surprisingly beautiful hike in almost untouched nature accompanied by intense birdsong.
