Rock Arch at North Berwick

Highlight • Natural Monument

For a rewarding experience at the View of the Rock Arch in North Berwick, plan your visit during the spring or autumn months. These seasons offer milder weather and fewer crowds, enhancing your enjoyment of the natural beauty [1]. Be prepared for strong winds at the summit, even if conditions are calm at lower levels [2]. To ensure safety and minimize environmental impact, stick to the established paths during your hike.

Scottish Seabird Centre

Highlight • Monument

The Scottish Seabird Centre is a fantastic experience whether you're a keen twitcher or are simply on a hike in the area. With live cams from seabird colonies, boat trips and plenty of fascinating information, there's lots to keep you occupied. Enjoy a snack at the cafe while you watch the sea or sign up to one of the educational family sessions, like beach cleaning and den building.

Dirleton Castle

Highlight • Historical Site

Dirleton Castle is one of the oldest surviving strongholds in Scotland. Built in the 13th century, the fortress was residence to three successive noble families: the de Vauxs, Haliburtons and Ruthvens. It was abandoned as a noble residence after Oliver Cromwell’s siege of 1650 but was saved from falling into disrepair in 1660s when the Nisbet family took ownership. They transformed the castle into an eye-catching attraction; a status it has retained to this very day.

Goose on the Green Café

Highlight • Cafe

Great food and coffee. No bike racks or seats outside but plenty of benches nearby overlooking the golf course if you want a takeaway. Cakes look amazing, but star of the show for me is the wraps!! Great sustenance during a long ride. Quick service despite being busy.
