A dense floodplain forest runs along the Neetze near Thomasburg and limits the village to the west. Where the road crosses the swampy valley bottom and leads in an arc to the castle hill with its stone church, lies between mill pond and Bruchwald the Thomasburger mill. However, it is only documented since 1373, when a fire destroyed it. In the Thirty Years' War, moving Swedes destroyed the mill, which was a grain, oil, bake and fulling mill. The long dilapidated mill was rebuilt in 1839. At that time, today's two-storey half-timbered building with a new residential building was built. In 1935, the mill received its turbine and worked with two roller mills until the 1970s.
