Neskirkja Church

Nesprestakall was founded in 1940 together with the priests Laugarnes and Hallgríms. Previously, the cathedral was the parish church of all people in the National Church. The area that belonged to the priesthood was quite large. Or, as the law says: "Nesprestakall lies on the other three priests and covers the land of the city of Reykjavík west of Reykjanesbraut, Seltjarnarnes and Engey."
The church itself was consecrated on Palm Sunday 1957. The architect of the church was the housekeeper Ágúst Pálsson. Several years ago, the church protected the exterior as an example of one of the first modern buildings in Iceland.
