Of course Aschach is worth a stop. Only this highlight is on the Danube bridge of Aschach and not in Aschach. So I would find it fitting to adapt the name.

Parish Church of Aschach an der Donau

Highlight • Religious Site

Around 1490, the late Gothic successor was built to a church that was originally first mentioned in a document in 1371. The high altar is crowned by the Danube cross, which is venerated as medicinal. In 1693, when it was flooded, it was brought ashore by two shipmen. The ailing restorer of the cross was healed while he was working. In 1784, by a government decree of Emperor Josef II. Aschach was separated from the mother church of Hartkirchen and raised to the status of an independent parish. In 1976 the church was renovated and expanded according to plans by Clemens Holzmeister.
