At Kochelsee, you can enjoy swimming and boat trips in a fantastic mountain setting. Kochelsee is located about 70 kilometers south of Munich on the edge of the Bavarian Alps. It is a moor lake and has a rather quiet character. The expressionist Franz Marc was inspired by the impressive landscape here.

While the southern part of the lake is still surrounded by mountains, the northern part is in the flat Alpine foothills and is bordered by the Loisach-Kochelsee moor. Kochelsee is almost 600 meters above sea level, is about six square kilometers in size and is over 60 meters deep.
