Built in 1912, the Grand Hôtel de Superbagnères sits at an altitude of 1,800 metres. It dominates the Luchon valley and offers one of the most majestic views of the Pyrenees chain, facing the highest peaks of Aneto and Maladeta. It is today the witness of a prosperous period of pyreneism.

Today's tour on the optional day led from Superbagnères to the Col de la Coumme. Public transport is not visible. Since the gondola actually operated by Bagnères-de-Luchon is currently being renovated, the only way to get up there is via the driveway.
