Gravel Path in Tyresta Nature Reserve

Short gravel part, which is definitely rideable with any road bike! Pretty scenic as well!

Small Beach at Flaten Lake

Highlight • Beach

This beach is a lot more serene than the main Flaten beach, which gets really busy during the summer. A gorgeous spot for a swim. There's usually a hot dog/ice cream stand at the top of the beach in high season.

A sandy lakeside beach with diving platforms and amenities. Stockholmers have flocked here for decades, and for good reason. It's beautifully situated in a pine forest and the water is crystal clear. A great place to stop and cool off on a warm summer day!

Wooden pier with a view of the lake

Highlight (Segment) • Viewpoint

This beautiful wooden pier offers quiet views over the Ältasjön lake.

Skogskyrkogården (The Woodland Cemetery)

Highlight • Historical Site

This UNESCO world heritage site is well worth a detour on a beachy day. One of the most peaceful places in Stockholm. Towering pines keep guard over the souls of the departed. I've added photos from All Saint's Day, when thousands of Stockholmers descend on the cemetery to pay their respects. There are so many people that entrepreneurial hot dog sellers set up their stalls at the gates.
