Today's agenda included the highest mountain in the Harz Mountains and the highest peak in Lower Saxony. I also passed several stamping stations. The Eckerlochsteig isn't a must-do; it's strenuous.

Today we hiked the highest mountain in Lower Saxony - Wurmberg - and the highest mountain in Saxony-Anhalt - Brocken. We set off from Braunlage, first to the Brocken, then via the Eckerlochstieg and Teufelsstieg to the Wurmberg. We climbed every meter in altitude today. The crossing of the Alps is getting closer and closer.

Great landscape, the Brocken is unfortunately very overcrowded, but since it is only a small part of the tour, you can cope with that.

It is really important to have good shoes! Sneakers or light hiking shoes are not enough!

An exciting day. Sun, old snow with ice, lots of rocks, unfortunately few trees 😞 and a fantastic view from the Brocken. It's always cool to spontaneously drive to the Harz Mountains to visit the Brocken 😀.

Today we headed from Braunlage along the Bode River and the Bode Falls up toward the Brocken. We crossed the Bärenbrücke (Bear Bridge) and gazed at the Wurmberg Moor, with the Brocken as our destination. After reaching this summit, we enjoyed the breathtaking view and fortified ourselves for the rather rocky descent. On a whim, we then briefly detoured toward …

Harz – but warm and welcoming!
A strenuous tour with varied trails and beautiful views

I only knew this morning that I'm going to land on the Brocken,
The masses of people turned the Eckerlochstieg into a catwalk.
I also had to endure the crowds 😳 and garbage and rabble.
Almost nobody sticks to the left-hand rotation commandment.
🙄I give up🤷‍♂️

The first 300 meters of altitude were quite relaxed thanks to the Wurmbergbahn
