Battaglia Terme Canal

Highlight • River

Small spa town born around the year 1000, which over the centuries has stood out for significant spa activity along the navigable canal that crosses it. Excellent starting point for exploring the Euganean hills and the Euganean spas, nearby is Mount Ceva (256 m above sea level) and the municipalities of Abano and Montegrotto Terme, famous for their spa activity since Roman times.

Battaglia Terme Canal

Highlight • River

The smallest municipality in the province of Padua by area, Battaglia Terme is located between the Euganean Hills and the Po Valley. Crossed by several canals and waterways, Battaglia acquired the suffix "Terme" thanks to the presence of thermal springs with a Royal Decree of 1925.

Montericco Ascent

Highlight • Climb

..... what to say at every meter I spat blood and vocalized the entire repertoire of the Saints I know. For me, being a simple and humble pedaler who uses an entry level bike, it was a huge satisfaction to get to the top above all because I didn't know that it had very few stretches of breath with an average gradient of just under 12% and that the gradients vary from 15 at 17%

Ascent to Monte Ricco

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

It is true. It's very hard. The initial part, let's say up to hairpin 5, gives no respite and is almost permanently above 15%. The first ramp just after the barrier and the one following hairpin bend 4 are particularly tough.
Subsequently the slopes become slightly less ferocious, but never comfortable. Of particular note is the stretch between hairpin bend 10 and the next.
By mnemonic rule, in the first part the hardest ramps are those after the even hairpin bends (those that turn left), while after those that turn right you can breathe. From the middle of the climb onwards this distinction also disappears.
When going downhill, pay attention to the state of the asphalt (very damaged at the top) and the slope.
For me one of the most challenging and beautiful routes in the Hills
