Arlesheim offers four castles and ruins from the Middle Ages. The somewhat hidden Reichenstein Castle and the somewhat larger Spornburg Castle Birseck as a landmark of the place, which represents the "front" castle. There was also a middle and a rear castle, but only ruins remain. Access is through the Hermitage.
The castle can be visited from mid-May to the end of September on Wednesdays and Sundays from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Highlight • Natural Monument

It is the largest English landscaped garden in Switzerland. There is a lot to see there: Birseck Castle, small caves, small lakes and various wild places baptized with romantic names.

Gempenturm Observation Tower

Highlight • Monument

What many do not know: the Gempenturm has an eventful history behind it and is not just an excursion site. For example, he played a not insignificant role for Switzerland during the Second World War to observe the troop movements of the Germans and French in the border area from here. A ‘Division Gempen’ of the CH Army was stationed on the Gempenturm for this task. Among other things there was a dogfight over Gempen where an American. Bomber was shot down.
