Here, the genuine Mallorca has kept. The market square is flanked by plane trees.

Something scary here. The forest shimmers almost silvery. A great spectacle through the light

Orient Village

Highlight • Settlement

The uniquely beautiful village of Orient enchants both with its fantastic mountain backdrop of the charming Serra de Tramuntana and the tranquility and its natural living experience. Only 50 houses are located on the small hill with a cute church and fit perfectly into the valley. There are around 30 residents here

Small village in the Tramuntana mountains. It is right on the GR221 hiking trail.

Historic Village of Orient

Highlight • Settlement

The historic town centre with old stone houses from the 14th and 15th centuries and the church of Sant Jordi from the 18th century is grouped around the village square. The village, with around 30 inhabitants, owes its wealth to its agricultural past with olive groves, apple and almond orchards, sheep and goat farming. The terraces laid out on slopes by the Moors dominate the landscape here. The whole village has been a listed building since 2010. The origin of the name Orient (from the Latin sol oriens, "rising sun") is associated with the fact that it is located in the east of the Serra de Tramuntana as the village of the "rising sun".

Path to Orient

Highlight • Trail

Absolute NO GO - path in the second half of the way back from Orient is impassable due to dead wood and no longer recognizable - from the (dilapidated) old farm with goats take the road!

March 20, 2025,Orient – S'Estaló-Pass Runde von Los Damunt
The path to Cas Secretari is difficult to find due to many fallen trees. A steep slope with lots of scree makes the descent difficult.

Showing Translation

The path from S'Estaló path is accessible in the beginning but later becomes barely possible to find or continue. At the end you have to find your way down somehow through gravel field. Alaro to Orient is fantastic though.
Final tour... unfortunately a complete disaster, as the way from Orient back to Alaro is completely blocked!
Not passable. It's probably still the storm damage from February 2023. On top of that, it's also partially overgrown...
Please don't try it!

Showing Translation

The tour from Alsro to Orientist very nice. The way back to the rock breakthrough is very nice....not recommended from then on.... difficult to orientate yourself because some trees make the path unrecognizable. I assumed this was intentional, they don't want hikers on these trails. Very annoying !!!!
