Letze Hut with panoramic view

Highlight • Mountain Hut

You can rest at the hut with a panoramic view on the benches. About 5 minutes further there is also a bench with a view of the other side to Lake Constance. There, however, only in the sun.

On this beautiful section of meadow you can enjoy wonderful views and two benches and the meadow also invites you to linger.
If you go up from Viktorsberg in the direction of First or Hohe Kugel, the path mostly leads over beautiful, rooted forest paths and on this section over this lawn you have really great views.

rooty forest trail

Highlight • Trail

On the way from Viktorsberg up to the First, the path leads over beautiful rooty forest paths. I just like rooted forest trails and I'm always happy to come across some.
In the downhill direction it requires some surefootedness in some places, but within a normal framework.

First Summit

Highlight • Summit

Neighboring mountain of the Hohe Kugel, just not overrun. From Fraxern there is a leisurely tour to the summit, which can also be done well with snowshoes in winter.

Viktorsberg Monastery

Highlight • Religious Site

Monastery Foundation, Viktorsberg
The history of the Viktorsberg Monastery
The Irish hermit Eusebius had already settled on the Viktorsberg in the 9th century. In 1384, Count Rudolf V of Montfort-Feldkirch founded a monastery of the Franciscan Minorites there, which existed for four centuries until it was abolished in 1785. After that, the monastery church became the parish church of the Viktorsberg community, and the convent building served as a village school and rectory, among other things. At the beginning of the 20th century, the state of Vorarlberg made a significant contribution to the preservation of the ensemble, as it is one of the oldest Christian settlements in Vorarlberg.
Today, the former monastery is a popular seminar, event and cultural center for many guests from home and abroad in an impressive location high above the Alpine Rhine Valley. The location and the beautiful view make this monastery a very special place.

February 2, 2025,Viktorsberg - First - Almein
We started at the Viktorsberg monastery, from there it was a steep climb to the last one where the snow slowly came...
Further and further up towards the ridge, and at the very top we were able to put on our snowshoes and walk an extra loop to the ridge in the deep snow...

A very beautiful and pleasant tour, which leads mostly through wooded areas on the way there. Past the first highlight, the last one, the second part of the climb is characterized by a somewhat steeper root system climb. Shortly after the end of the forest, the goal, the First, is already within reach.
In contrast to the Hohe Kugel, the …

From Viktorsberg it went over the Last up to the summit. We briefly considered whether we needed the snowshoes, but finally (luckily) left them in the car 😅.
Then it didn't even need the "snow chains" for the shoes. On the way back, a stop at the AlmeinAlpe, it's always worth it 😀 It was great

Hike from Viktorsberg Church to First.
The way up is steep, but varied 👍 everything included, roots, gravel, mud🙂🥾.
At the summit all alone, after a short rest, following a narrow path to the unfortunately loose Vorderhörnle. For this I was rewarded with a great view.
A short stretch back the same way, to the descent towards Treiet and then …
