Awesome view, but difficult with fresh snow. My toughest tour so far. Stuck up to the thighs in the snowdrifts. Extreme wind conditions at the summit. Certainly a great highlight …

Beautifully situated at the foot of the Herzogstand and Jochberg. From the north shore you have spectacular views over the lake to the peaks of the Karwendel. The lake is also known for its unique water color.

August 18, 2025,Jochberg, Sonnenaufgang mit meiner Tochter

This time, my second daughter asked me to go on a night hike with sunrise on the mountain. I'd wanted to do that for a long time, so this morning at 3 a.m. we set off from the parking lot on Kesselbergstraße with headlamps toward Jochberg.
It was quiet in the dark forest, and every now and then a toad …

Barely a year has passed, and there's another great mountain tour with my daughter's heart!
I almost forgot how beautiful it is! No kidding, I didn't forget! 🥰
I haven't gone on the wonderful classic tour between Lake Kochel and Lake Walchen for years. I haven't done mountain tours in a long time either, because I mostly sit on my …

Steep climb and partly steep descent (never dangerous), rewarded with spectacular and unforgettable views from the summit. The Jochberg is always great.

The trail begins opposite the small car park on Kesselbergstrasse and winds upwards in short serpentines. After about 2/3 of the route, you have your first beautiful view of Lake Kochel. A rocky trail takes you to the summit with a view of Lake Walchen, Lake Kochel, Lake Starnberg and Lake Ammer. On the way down, stop at the rustic …

The Jochberg promises beautiful views of Walchen and Kochelsee. So we set off in quite decent weather. Unfortunately, this didn't last long. Even on the climb through the mountain forest, it became increasingly cloudy - views were zero! 🫤🧐Just before the summit, a light drizzle started. A quick "Berg Heil" and on to the Jocheralm. From there, you could also …

Actually a beautiful panoramic mountain, beautifully situated between Kochelsee and Walchensee. When I was up there this morning, there was only a little snow flurry to see. But then I found a nice place for my snack break, with a wonderful view of the eastern shore of Lake Walchen.

May 2, 2024,🥾1️⃣👌🔝Rundtour auf den Jochberg (1.567m) mit Blick auf Walchen u. Kochelsee💥

Today I decided on the Jochberg😀 and that was a great idea 👍💥 and also an alternative to the Herzogstand which had a lot more snow (1 week before it had snowed 50 cm) and you should do this ridge walk in the best conditions, definitely 🔝💥 and recommended......the Jochberg is a great mountain with a great view, you can …

With an icy wind and what feels like -10c, we go from Kesselberg to Jochberg. From the clearing above, we get to feel the sun. The snow is deep because there are still few tracks. ❄️☀️
