Daymer Bay Beach

Highlight • Trail

Daymer Bay is a great swimming beach at high tide. It has no waves but is fairly shallow for a long way out. If you fancy a leisurely swim or would like to train in the sea, this is a great spot to swim. There are sand dunes for the kids too. It has a pay and display car park right on the beach. However, car access to this beach can be problematic in busy times as it is a single track road.

Polzeath Beach

Highlight • Beach

With soft and golden sands, clean and calm waters, a laid-back surfer vibe, and beauty in every direction, Polzeath Beach is a great place for relaxation, swimming and having fun. Awarded the Blue Flag status, the beach is one of the safest for swimming and learning to surf and has lifeguard cover.

Pentireglaze Haven

Highlight • Beach

This is a secluded little beach off the main beach in Polzeath. It is normally quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the main beach. It is great for long beach walks at low tide.

View from Pentire Point

Highlight • Viewpoint

This is a great view spot of the whole section of coast. It is elevated and gives wonderful panoramic views of the area and Newland Island. It is about a two hour round trip from Polzeath and on a clear day is well worth the effort.

Lundy Hole Natural Rock Arch

Highlight • Viewpoint

Lundy Hole is a collapsed sea cave, which you can look in from above. All that remains is the entrance to the cave, which now stands on the water like an archway. A very beautiful natural spectacle.
Lundy Hole can be reached after a short walk (about 15 - 20 minutes) from the car park of the same name. On the way you still pass Markham's Quay, a bay visible from above.

Port Quin Cove

Highlight • Beach

Port Quin is known as ‘the village that died’ after all of the men in the village drowned whilst fishing in the 19th century, forcing the women to abandon their homes. These days, Port Quin is a serene and unspoiled spot with a pleasant beach hidden in a rocky cove.

The tidal estuary feels just like the ocean, especially when the tide is out and you can stop for a bite to eat on the little beaches. From here you can look across to Padstow and Gun Point. There is a ferry service between Rock and Padstow, should you want to go and explore more.
