Ascent to the Costa Teguise Entrance Gate

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

On good asphalt it goes over 4.5 kilometers with 110 m and a maximum of 7% up to the main road and the entrance gate to Costa Teguiese.

Costa Teguise town gate

Highlight • Monument

This is always my first intermediate goal after climbing the small "local mountain" of Costa Teguise. With a bit of luck, you can often see a couple of geckos sunbathing on the wall or the stairs in the "city gate".

Absolutely great training ground or should say hills

Wet road when driving away, fog and wind on the mountain. Now sunny by the sea.

Departure on November 11th, 2024, 26°, pure driving time 2:58, 800 m elevation gain according to Garmin

So today I conquered the Col de Haria. At 26° the temperatures were OK, but the wind of up to 37 km/h from the north slowed the climb down again. On the steep passage near the wind turbines, the wind was blowing straight …

Exit from May 6th, 2023, sunny, 18-23°, strong north wind 39 km/h, driving time 3:20

This time I drove from Costa Teguise via Tahiche and Teguise to Coll de Haria. Personally, I don't like the climb from there that much because the route is a bit monotonous in parts and the climb is about 25 kilometers. At the Costa Teguise …

A great ride to Haria and arreita but the return along the busy LZ-01 was unpleasant. The verge is on a 1.5m wide in places and the traffic is fast. We also rode into a strong sw headwind.
It doesn't get any higher on Lanzarote. The climb is not easy, and even when you ride down the steep descents on what are at times rather rough asphalt, you have to suppress any uneasy feelings. But overall, it's a truly magnificent tour.

Biking at 29 C' makes you really tired.
It rained on the island and everything is beautifully green 🥰
Now eat quickly and then I fall into bed 🤣🤪🤣

‼️Attention, attention ‼️
There is actually a new road on Lanza that has been washed - it is quite steep and really gets you out of breath. It starts from Guatiza and then goes into the mountains towards Teguise. You have a wonderful view from up here. And your favorite restaurant is waiting in Teguise ❤️
