Hello hikers, up on the Jochberg is extra class. Entrance from the Kesselbergstrasse car park is located in a U, approx. 1 km before Lake Walchensee. Before you get there it's about 700 meters uphill for a good 2-2.5 km :-). Very varied with forest, gravel bed, rock and path sections. Exhausting anyway... it goes up.
But once you get to the top... a dream!!! Best view of Walchensee and Kochelsee ever... and to the south of the mountain ranges of the foothills of the Alps. Insane view with comparatively little effort. No cable car, no lift, no parking lot, no kiosk provides technology on this mountain. A mountain cross... of course it has to be. Have a snack upstairs and just linger for an hour. Take a few pictures and then go back downstairs. A nice trip for sporty families. Unforgettable. Greetings Armin

Jochberg Summit

Highlight • Summit

In my opinion, a mountain can not be better. The Jochberg is located exactly between Kochel and Walchensee. On clear autumn days, the view extends far into the foothills of the Alps as far as Munich. With a bit of luck, you can see ibexes in addition to the great view.

🅿️ Am Sonnenstein

I wanted to take advantage of the beautiful weather. So today I headed up one of the local mountains again. The trail up and over the Sonnenspitz is mostly free of ice and snow. However, from kilometer 4.6 onwards, putting on crampons is recommended. On some longer sections …

You should bring swimwear on this tour. After the hike, we enjoyed a refreshing dip in the Kochelsee.

If someone wants to hike the route, at the start I had to go back to the campsite and at the end I was at the Edeka. So it can be abbreviated. At the Sommerspitz you can continue straight ahead. The route is harmless but exhausting😎

Showing Translation

The descent from the Sonnenspitze was extremely strenuous. Since the sun was already setting, we could no longer see the right path and walked down the wrong path. Please please pay attention!
