Nice walk through the pasture forest.
As we were out and about without a dog today, we were able to walk the "Neue Hute".
We didn't see the Exmoor ponies, but we did see the Heck cattle.
As a sporting activity, there were fallen trees that we had to climb over/under.
As I had no reception until the Nienover Medieval …

Today in a family circle 😁 made the Hutewald unsafe... just wonderful how spring awakens in the forest and lets everything shine in rich colors!!!

And once again, I was inspired by the local nature. We headed to the pasture forest near Nienover in the southern Solling region. "Hutewald" comes from the word "forest" in which people tend pastures, meaning that forests aren't cleared for pastureland, but rather used as pasture for livestock. A beautiful tour through magnificent nature. There are actually ponies on both sides of the trail. We didn't see any cattle, but it was still great without them. Except for a short stretch through brambles after the church ruins, the trails were easy. It's best to retrace your steps there and then take the connecting path on the right.

A great walk in the first warm hours of spring. We walked through the great pasture forest project in Reiherbachtal/Solling with Exmoor ponies and Heck cattle and got up close and personal with the animals. It was still noticeably cooler in the valley than on the higher route back. It was also quite muddy because of the logging work. Next …

Hiking with a friend. More than just being on the move. The shortness of the route is due to my pulled calf muscle. The things we could have exchanged would have lasted even longer...

Inspired by Maren's tour, I actually wanted to take on the Archotrail. But since I was late getting started again, and a stop at the motorcycle repair shop and a pizza in Bodenfelde got in the way, I unfortunately had to take a shortcut. THANKS anyway, @Maren

Attention hikers with dogs! For the safety of dogs and owners, the Hutewald project may NOT be entered with dogs. The free-roaming cattle there react aggressively when a dog (predator) gets between the calf and the mother cow. And if the panicked dog then wants to be picked up by mom, it can go very badly wrong for the owner …
