Haus Ternell Nature Center & Beer Garden

Haus Ternell is a nature information center. The cross-country ski rental station is open in winter and is the starting point for three groomed circular trails.
However, the restaurant with Belgian-French cuisine is highly recommended, and if the weather is nice, it also has a beer garden!

The "Hohe Venn" is a high moor with such special flora and fauna, that here everything is under nature protection. It is Belgium's largest nature reserve.

The landscape here is very open and overgrown with typical moorland plants. I have not tried it, but I'm pretty sure you would immediately sink knee deep into the mud as soon as you leave one of the trails. The view up here definitely makes for "wow" moments.
