Epping Forest Gravel Trails

Highlight • MTB Park

Epping Forest has a huge network of shared-use trails that are well-surfaced and wide enough to be enjoyed by pedestrians and cyclists at the same time.

Cycling is permitted on most of the paths in Epping Forest with the exception of the Iron Age camps, Loughton Brook and other ecologically or geomorphologically sensitive areas.

Rooty Chute, Epping Forest

Highlight • MTB Park

I think I found that drop on my last visit! I give it a miss as I was a little intimidated. Like Epping but struggle to find a decent loops but have fun getting lost. Hopefully can now follow some routes from Komoot now.

Lovely little climb leading out from Loughton. Through the forest, good quality tarmac and no potholes. Would recommend!

Earl's Path Pond

Highlight • Forest

The serene Earl's Path Pond makes for a gorgeous place for a rest or snack stop. Almost always muddy, have it in mind!

Strawberry Hill Pond

Highlight • Viewpoint

Strawberry Hill Pond is located within Epping Forest and provides a peaceful retreat perfect for a rest and picnic following a forest walk.

The pond is enveloped by conifers and sweet chestnut trees and has a very tranquil and pleasant feel to it. There's a little wooden bench next to the water where you can sit and soak up the atmosphere.

Forest Path to High Beach

Highlight • Forest

An alternative way to High Beech avoiding the main road drag. Passable on a road bike but gets “adventurous” if the weather has taken a turn recently.
