The route is naturally divided into three sections. The first takes us to the tunnel that crosses the rock. The second takes us to a fork where we can choose to go to a viewpoint or opt for the last section of the climb to the summit.

View of Calpe from Penyal d'Ifac

Highlight • Viewpoint

Calpe seen from the Peñón d’Ifac is a spectacular experience. From the summit, some 332 meters above sea level, you're treated to a unique panorama: the intense blue of the Mediterranean, the golden sand beaches, and the contrast with the town center and fishing port. On clear days, you can even see the Sierra de Bernia mountain range and, occasionally, the island of Ibiza on the horizon.

The hike to the top is demanding, especially the final stretch, which is more technical and requires good footwear, but the effort is well worth it. The feeling of being surrounded by sea and nature, with seagulls soaring overhead and the Natural Park below you, is unforgettable. Ideal for hiking and photography enthusiasts.

A beautiful tour despite the heat. It is worth getting the permit and filling it out easily via Chrome. Drinking lots of water is highly recommended. Sure-footedness is very important as some places are extremely slippery

Hello Komoot`ler, a hike on the local mountain of Calpe, the 332m high Penyal d'Ifac, is very demanding, because strictly speaking it is a via ferrata. It begins very harmlessly and then gets really exhausting after the tunnel.
Up was once again easier for me than down.
This was a real highlight for the first Advent.

Danger. Registration required prior to mountain climbing. Failure to register could result in a fine of between €600 and €6,000.

A beautiful hike to the top of Penya d'ifac.
Children and young people should only be taken as far as the tunnel. After that it becomes alpine in places.
This means that rope or chain safety devices and the markings should be carefully observed.

Some of the rocks are very slippery because of the many visitors every year. It is particularly slippery in the tunnel. I would recommend hiking boots.

A really great hike with aspiration!
Sturdy shoes are required after the tunnel. Then there are some passages that are not without (alpine) and are not recommended for people with a fear of heights.
The hike itself is recommended to start quite early. The view during the tour and at the top is worth it!
