Allner Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

This bridge is one of three ways for cyclists to cross the Sieg in the immediate vicinity of Hennef. The other two are the Horstmannsteg and the suspension bridge at the Sieglinde - and both are definitely preferable to the Allner Bridge.
On the Allner Bridge, cyclists have to ride on the road. Pushing a bike is permitted on the extremely narrow footpaths on both sides (as on any footpath). However, due to the narrow width of the footpaths, even two pushed bikes passing each other is a difficult undertaking. Pushing a bike and an oncoming stroller passing each other is not feasible - one of them has to make the return journey.
Personally, I only ride the Allner Bridge in a southerly direction, and then only if I want to turn left onto the Siegdamm immediately after the bridge. When travelling from Bröl to Hennef, I definitely prefer the Horstmannsteg.
