Heidelberg Bridge Monkey

The Heidelberg Bridge Monkey is a figural representation on the bridge over the Neckar. Its history dates back to the 15th century (1481). Karlstor Heidelberg

The triumphal arch in honor of the Elector Karl Theodor at the eastern end of the city was built between 1775 and 1781 according to plans by Nicolas de Pigage.
