Following the example of top bathing facilities in Europe, a bathing and recreational complex was set up, which included several luxurious hotels and a lovely park; Velika Aleja was lined with trees, Vrelo Bosne was fixed up, a railway track was laid all the way to Sarajevo….
It was in Hotel Bosna, one of the finest Austro-Hungarian hotels in Ilidža, where the heir apparent, Franz Ferdinand and wife, Sophie, spent their last night before taking the early morning train to Sarajevo, where they would be meet their end in an incident now known as the Sarajevo Assassination.
During the special dinner organized in honor of the royal family, the main specialty was trout straight from the source of the Bosna River.
