This used to be a popular tourist destination. You could rent boats and gondola over the Wispersee. Today it is an amphibian sanctuary, a paradise for anglers and everyone who wants to relax in nature.

July 15, 2022,Wanderung 23/22 Wispertrail "Im Wisper Outback"
The name of the trail says it all. Much, e.g. T. dense wilderness, but also, apart from individual sections, unfortunately as dry as the Australian counterpart and just as deserted. I only met two hikers along the whole way.
I walked the tour clockwise, only to see on my return that the reverse direction is recommended. But whatever.

Second day of hiking in the Wispertaunus!
Hike in the Wisper Outback.
Different from yesterday, but still incredibly beautiful.

Cheer up and have fun hiking!

Today I didn't want to drive far for a hike, so I decided to do a short hike. The Wisper Valley is simply beautiful, and there are many well-known and less-hit hikes.
It was beautiful, but I still have to get used to the heat again.

Today it was the turn of the Wisper Trails: First the Wisper Outback. I like the Wispertrails, even if many are not so spectacular and full of highlights - I like them more because of the quiet and the beautiful paths. Since we have an hour to travel to many of them, I decided this morning to do two routes that are close to each other. So first we went on the Wisper …

Rugged slate cliffs rise next to enchanted paths. The slanted, scaled plates are a reminder of this; The Wispertaunus is a folded mountain range.
Rare bats now flutter in the dark tunnels …

Today I started a new hike that tested my Nikon camera.
And the hike at Wisper was nice again.

After the swamp-shoe-drying break, at least hiked a second Wisper Trail today. A beautiful tour that runs exclusively through forest and fields. There are great views that lead to a clear recommendation of the tour, especially today in snow and fog.
