Lake Guéry is a mountain lake of volcanic origin located in the Dore mountains, in the heart of the Massif Central. It is the highest of the Auvergne lakes. Surrounded by mountain pastures, it is located in the Puy-de-Dôme department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes administrative region, eight kilometers from the town center of the commune of Mont-Dore, towards Clermont-Ferrand. Since 2021, the lake has been the property of the Puy-de-Dôme departmental council. This lake exists thanks to a basaltic lava flow that created a dam.
