Bogliaco

Highlight • Settlement

Bogliaco is a small village, quiet and relaxing. It has two marinas: the one in the village and a private one inaugurated in 1987.
At the beginning of September every year it comes alive with the "Centomiglia" sailing regatta. It was 1951 when, on the initiative of the Circolo Vela di Gargnano, the first Centomiglia was held, consolidated over time as one of the most famous European regattas capable of welcoming over 350 crews among the best on the continent in recent years.

Lake Valvestino

Highlight • Lake

The suggestive lake of Valvestino, with its enchanting inlets and imposing overhanging rocks, offers a spectacle of rare beauty. The winding road that runs through it is a true paradise for summer motorcyclists and offers, in the remaining months of the year, the possibility of peacefully enjoying the solitude of an extraordinary landscape.

Passing Lake Idro and heading towards Capovalle, the first traces of Lake Valvestino appear, captivating with the color of the water, intensely blue in summer and enveloping blue in winter. The shadows of the surrounding mountains create suggestive reflections, giving the landscape an atmosphere of extraordinary beauty.

This artificial basin, regulated by the imposing Ponte Cola dam on the Toscolano stream, offers scenery that evokes the Norwegian fjords. Lake Valvestino thus becomes a place of authentic natural beauty, far from the chaos of the city, ideal for those seeking unforgettable visual and sensorial experiences.

Easy ride with 2 nice climbs. The first, Navazzo, from Gargnano beautiful but a little busy. The second, Bollone from Molino di Bollone, practically alone and almost all in the shade, also because at Bollone the road ends and the town is very small. In the middle the always spectacular road that runs along the lake of the Valvestino dam.

If you fancy an adventure, you are welcome to follow the tour. I found it super exhausting and was glad that the sun rarely showed up today ☺️. We had to push the bike for many sections as it went over hill and dale. We didn't really meet people. The serpentine road by the lake is popular with motorcyclists, cars …

Beautiful ascent and descent ⛰☀️😁. However, I recommend e-bike support for medium to low fitness levels (like me🙈). CISCO SPORT in Toscolano-Maderno has a wide range of bike rentals (if you want to try it). You should definitely have something off-road at the start. It's bumpy at times. Conclusion: Riding an e-bike is really fun.😎🚲⚡️☀️
