The Stralsund town hall is probably one of the most important and best known, secular buildings of the North German brick Gothic. The northern transverse building with its spacious arbor on the ground floor, a large hall above it and the wonderful brick display wall already mentioned was probably built at the beginning of the 15th century. A baroque portal with a Swedish coat of arms was built on the west side in the 18th century.
