Smitten Corner Trail Junction

Highlight • Viewpoint

Smitten Corner has a rather lovely name for what is essentially just a small car park. There's much more than meets the eye though, as so many footpaths, bridleways and other ways seem to converge here, you're quite spoilt for choice for adventures.

Hardy's Monument lies mere moments up the road, as do far-reaching views, pockets of woodland, a sculpture area and Neolithic burial chambers.

From this point, right next to the Hampton Down Stone Circle, you have beautiful panoramic views of the coast and some of its landmarks, such as the lovely St Catherine's Chapel perched on its hill.

St Catherine's Chapel, Abbotsbury

Highlight • Viewpoint

The classic Abbotsbury view is of Chesil Beach. It's a quaint village with a swannery, but the roads are so nice you'll probably be going too fast to look at the birds.
