Tolquhon Castle Ruins

Highlight • Historical Site

The castle is accessible by public transportation; take the 291 Stagecoach bus to East Newseat of Tolquhon. The castle is about a mile from the stop. Ask the driver to drop you at the path for the castle to save some walk. Don't miss the original Forbes coat of arms carved in stone; it used to be in the 15th century tower but is now in the visitor's center.

Tarves Heritage Centre

Highlight • Historical Site

This is a free museum with permanent and seasonal exhibits. On display are stone age tools, including a sword, excavated from a nearby stone circle. The center is open 1-4.30pm Thursday through Sunday from 5th April to 28th October, 2018. Their website is tarvesheritage.org.uk
