Wessenaurach Valley

Highlight (Segment) • Gorge

A very scenic valley! You drive along the Wessenaurach at a moderate slope on a solid forest road continuously about 400 meters up. We were amazed that we did not have much support with eBike without condition.

Gahberg Chapel

Highlight • Religious Site

Be sure to go into the chapel, which is painstakingly maintained by Christine and Wolfgang from Apartment Christine and decorated with flowers or bouquets on the benches. Both the wrought iron grille in front of the altar and the ceiling painting are worth seeing.

View of Lake Attersee with Benches

Highlight • Viewpoint

The tour shown to you is best if you take the normal country road. Suggested tour is not for normal e-bikes as it partly goes through muddy forest paths.

Here is a small aquarium in which the fish of the Attersee can be studied. In June 2019 it was in repair. A model of a pile-dwelling village gives an idea of how people used to live here. A quiet place on the lake!

August 18, 2023,Skgt: Altmünster / Traunsee - Weyregg / Attersee 🔄
This bright summer's day is ideal for the trip from Traunsee to Attersee and back.
As usual, it goes to the Attersee through the Wessenaurach valley and over the Gahberg. It is pleasantly fresh in the forest and along the splashing, sparkling water.

Great little loop that largely follows stream valleys in the forest on the ascent. A beautiful view of the Traunstein (with a bit of Traunsee), the Kreuzing-Alm (see photo for opening hours, but a drinks machine is also available) shortly before the final descent, and the Attersee panorama from the Grahberg reward you for it. Mostly well-rideable gravel paths in …

Perfect round trip with a dog. Two long sections lead along forest paths through shady forest parallel to the stream. At Gahberg it is difficult to decide which bench to sit on to enjoy the view of Lake Attersee. At Attersee (Weyregg) itself it is difficult to find access to the water because almost everything is privately owned or dogs …
