Pontresina

Highlight • Settlement

Wildly romantic, sunny and sheltered from the wind at 1,800 meters, surrounded by the impressive Bernina massif, the historically grown mountain village enchants upon arrival: the charm of traditional Engadine houses, dignified luxury and a breathtaking mountain world that, in addition to tranquility, offers fine mountain, wellness and Have culinary delights ready. Hiking and biking along striking glacier trains and massifs, romantic mountain lakes, aromatic alpine meadows and forests on perfectly maintained and designated routes.

Climb the 4,049-meter-high Piz Bernina with pimples and crampons. If you prefer to watch the local climbing specialists, the ibex, with a little luck you can do this from Alp Languard.

Because relaxation is part of the excitement, the Bellavita adventure pool and spa, as well as excellent Swiss pine and gourmet restaurants, pamper you. Then a fun concert evening in the Pontresina Congress and Culture Center and the day is perfect. For an unforgettable time and homesickness that only arises at home.

Val Roseg

Highlight • Gorge

Very beautiful valley. From Pontresina, the Roseg guesthouse (1999m) can be easily reached on a gently rising, wide gravel road - with a lot of traffic on nice days (horse-drawn carriages, pedestrians, bikers). From the Hotel Roseg you go further into the valley, first on the hiking trail and by bike, but then it ends at the landslide area at the latest, and you only go on foot to the lake (Lej da Vadret) (and further on to Chamanna Coaz on the western side of the valley). The path to Chamanna Tschierva (on the opposite, eastern side of the valley) branches off immediately after Gasrthasu Roseg.

Beautiful valley with a magnificent view. You can ride your MTB far back, but no longer right at the back in the scree area.

San Gian Church

Highlight • Religious Site

The San Gian Church is one of the most famous places of worship in the Engadine. The first church was built on this hill east of Celerina in the late Middle Ages. Later the late Gothic tower was added, which lost its roof in a lightning strike. It has not been rebuilt to this day.

Today for the first time with sunshine but still a very cold bise. From Samden Airport to the beautiful Val Roseg. Relaxed with my wife and enjoyed the fantastic nature. Tomorrow we will go through the Val Mora to Livigno.....

A very beautiful area with countless hiking and biking trails through the Staz Forest and into the Roseg Valley. However, it's too touristy for my taste.

Very nice tour. Very few bikers around at this time of year.

Showing Translation

The last 2 kilometers before the Lej Vadret could only be done on foot.

After the aborted tour this morning, we took a leisurely stroll to Val Roseg in the afternoon and swallowed my "frustration" with delicious cake.😜😜😜

A wonderful tour from Silvaplana through the Stazerwald to Val Roseg and back again.
On the way, of course, something sweet from the best cake buffet in the region could not be missing.
So that we don't forget it, it was once again time to change a hose on the way. Impeccable work in nature.
It's just a gorgeous area.
