The cycle path through the entire Ötztal
Starting in Haiming at 670 m, the cycle path runs through the entire Ötztal and ends in Sölden at 1,377 m. It branches off from one of the longest cycle paths in Europe - the Inn Cycle Path - and takes cyclists over 50 kilometers into the very unique mountain world of the Ötztal Alps.

Ötztal Cycle Route No. 11

Highlight • Cycleway

Ötztal cycle path total route(11)
The cycle path starts in the center of Haiming. Protected by the surrounding mountain ranges, the valley entrance of the Ötztal offers a wonderful climate with little rainfall and lots of sun. The mild temperatures make it the heart of Tyrolean apple cultivation. The cycle path leads past the hamlets of Magerbach and Schlierenzau to the Ötztal train station. You continue through a forest for a few hundred meters parallel to the railway tracks to AREA 47, the largest outdoor adventure park in Austria. From here it goes south, off the main road through Brunau and along the Ötztaler Ache to Oetz.
At the end of Oetz you cycle parallel to the Ötztal federal road to Habichen. Through the underpass at Habichen, you can take a detour to the Habicher See. Or you can tackle the tough climb in the “Tumpener Gstoag” straight away. The path leads through a small section of forest (Seestall/Grube) to Tumpen. Here you go past the school in the direction of the Ötztaler Bundesstraße, which you cross in the same way as the Ötztaler Ache afterwards. Relaxed, you roll further in the direction of Umhausen, past the Engelswand, the hamlet of Lehn-Platzl and the Maria Schnee chapel. A small ascent follows directly into the center of Umhausen. Past the parish church, follow the ground markings through the hamlet of Neudurf until you cross the Ache again at the Fundus bridge at the bottom of the valley.
The cycle path continues along the Ache to the Köfels junction and on a gravel path in the direction of Au. At its end, a paved path leads above the roaring Ötztaler Ache over two newly built and spectacular bike bridges. After the second bridge, turn left into a somewhat steeper section of forest. At the end of the forest, an underpass leads to the other side of the street. At the next crossroads, turn right towards Winklen, before turning left along the Ache at the next fork, right in the direction of Unterried. At the next crossroads, turn right towards Winklen, drive through the hamlets of Oberried, Lehn and Unterried to the west of Längenfeld and finally reach Längenfeld. From here you drive past the famous Aqua Dome thermal baths and follow the path through the wide meadows of Astlehn and Runhof and finally reach Huben. The impressive mountains in the Upper Ötztal are getting closer and closer.
At the end of Huben, it goes back over the Ötztaler Ache and along a gravel path parallel to the main road. Through the underpass you land safely on the other side of the road and drive to Bruggen on gravel. Another underpass is followed by a bike bridge over the Ache near Aschbach and then a short uphill and a slight downhill. Already you come to the next bridge overpass. At the next fork in the road, you keep heading east and drive down to the bottom of the valley, where another bridge crosses the Ache. The last part of the Ötztal Cycle Path finally leads to the east of the Ötztaler Ache in the municipality of Sölden.

Stage 4: Huben – Sölden (approx. 11 km)
At the following fork in the road, keep to the east and do NOT drive in the direction of the kennel, but down to the valley floor, where another bridge crosses the Ache. The last part of the Ötztal Cycle Path finally leads to the east of the Ötztaler Ache in the municipality of Sölden.
