Reichl Chapel

Highlight • Religious Site

A much-visited spring shrine, the Stefansbrunnen, used to be located here
at Frauenbach. Not only the "Anninger" pilgrims (from St. Anna) stopped at this holy place on the way to Maria Fieberbründl. The pilgrims believed that the well water had a healing effect and it was used against many ailments. The fountain is mentioned for the first time in 1691, the chapel was rebuilt in 1716. In the 19th century, a handicapped woman is said to have been healed at this spring behind the church. This woman's crutches could be seen in the chapel until the flood in 1968. In 1982 the chapel was restored and the fountain building fell into disrepair.

Parish Church of St. Stefan in Hofkirchen

Highlight • Religious Site

This church is over 500 years old. For a long time it was not so sure that it would happen. In 1806, even the demolition of the church was demanded, which was only prevented because the community Hofkirchen promised to pay for the costs of conservation. In any case, it has since been maintained and constantly renovated - most recently in 2002. Essentially, however, the Gothic style has been preserved unchanged, which is why this church in eastern Styria is well worth seeing.
