Flüela Pass

Highlight • Mountain Pass

From Davos, the driveway to the 2,383-meter pass is 13 kilometers long and 820 vertical meters. The ascent of Susch is also 13 kilometers long, but it is 100 meters more. The pass is relatively easy to drive and the slope remains on average in the single digits. At the pass are two lakes, the Black and the Schottensee. With a view of these two lakes and the peaks of the Flüela-Weisshorn (3085 m) in the north and the Schwarzhorn (3147 m) in the south, you can rest in the Flüela-Hospiz and strengthen yourself. There are even a few rooms in the small hotel and you could spend a night in this beautiful mountain scenery. flueela-hospiz.ch/index.html

Frauenkirch-Islen dog trail

Highlight • Trail

Your dog doesn't have to stay at home in winter, because you can simply take him with you on the four-legged friend-friendly trails in Davos-Klosters! There are a total of five specially designated sections as dog trails. The three and a half kilometer long Frauenkirch-Islen route is one of them. Two gentle climbs and two subsequent descents take you from Davos Frauenkirch to Davos Platz.

From the start at the Sertigerstrasse junction, you walk with your dog along the picturesque Landwasser. Your eyes wander over the wintry mountain landscape and the white-covered trees at the edge of the cross-country ski trail. After crossing the river at the Alpenhof, we continue directly towards Davos Platz. Passing the train station and the valley stations of the Bolgen lifts, you reach your destination on Mattastrasse at the Bräma inn. We return to the starting point on the same route.

You can find further information about cross-country ski trails in Davos at davos.ch/langlauf.

Davos

Highlight • Settlement

Davos and Klosters are surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery in an idyllic landscape that offers everything you dream of in the Alps.

The contrast is unique: here is the urban Davos, there the contemplative monastery, which has preserved its village character. Both things have two things in common: the fascinating mountain nature delights and the variety of the offer is convincing.

For racing cyclists, despite all the variety, the highlight is located just outside the city: The Flüela Pass is the northernmost "two-thousander" of the Swiss Alps and connects Davos in Landwassertal, with Susch in the Lower Engadine. Between the Flüela-Weisshorn (3085 m) in the north and the Schwarzhorn (3147 m) in the south, the scenery for a hearty pass challenge could not be better.
