Nibelungen Monument

Highlight • Monument

As a child I have already read stories and legends about the Nibelungen and Dittrich of Bern, as one drives through Tulln and there are the characters with life-size in front of one, that was pure enthusiasm, I will never forget.

Former monastery building, which today serves as a town hall. Located directly on the Danube Cycle Path. Further highlights in direct proximity are the Nibelungenbrunnen and the ship rainy day. Highly recommended for a Radlerpause!

Treetop Walk at Die Garten Tulln

Highlight • Viewpoint

Baumwipfelweg

Spectacularly high, it goes on the Baumwipfelweg. Designed by the Lower Austrian architect DI Ernst Maurer, the 30-meter-high treetop path consists of a multi-level observation tower, stairwells and platforms.
700 meters of railing lead upwards. They are not only secured with glass panels, but are also artistically designed by the renowned Lower Austrian woodcut sculptor Prof. Erich Steininger. If necessary, you can transport a lift to the top platform.
Accessibility is a top priority across the site - from the car park to lofty heights. From here you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the show gardens, the Danube floodplains and the city as far as Tullnerfeld. On sunny clear days you can even see the Ötscher!

Hundertwasser Ship "Regentag"

Highlight • Monument

In 2004, four years after Friedensreich Hundertwasser's death, his ship, Regentag, was brought to his birthplace, Tulln an der Donau, for a comprehensive exhibition. The complex transfer began in New Zealand: From there, the Regentag was transported by container ship to Hamburg and then transported by road on a low-loader to Lower Austria. Since then, the colorful ship has usually been moored in Tulln's guest harbor, in the immediate vicinity of the former Minorite monastery, and is an integral part of the city's cultural heritage.
