The Wijnbrondal in Linkebeek is a picturesque valley with steep walls, known for its sunken road and the Castle of Linkebeek. The area consists of calcareous sands. You will find beech forest and oak-hornbeam forest. In the early 1900s, the Wijnbrondal was a popular walking spot for artists, which is why it was given the name Vallée des Artistes.

Beersel Water Tower

Highlight • Monument

This unmistakable landmark was finished in 2005, and it's unique in its kind. The BEL architect agency did a stellar job, when the need arose to replace the old water tower with a more modern installation.

The silo, which weight about 4 million kilograms, contains 2500 cubic meters of water - enough to supply the surrounding communes for about 24h, in case of emergencies. Over 200 steps take you to the roof, where the vista is incredible. Sadly, it's not usually publically accessible.

Geleytsbeek

Highlight • River

The Geleytsbeek is a small, picturesque stream that flows through the south-west of the Brussels-Capital Region and several municipalities in Flemish Brabant. This stream rises in Sint-Pieters-Leeuw and meanders through a mix of urban and green areas, including parks, forests and farmland. The Geleytsbeek plays an important role in local nature conservation projects, working on water purification and restoring natural banks to promote biodiversity. A beautiful place to walk and enjoy nature close to the city.
