Vaca Mora Cycle Path (Former Rocchette-Asiago Railway)

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

With a mostly compact dirt surface, this pleasant cycle path was created from the railway line that once connected Rocchette to Asiago, and therefore the plain to the mountains. Along the route you can admire disused stations. The old steam train was nicknamed "vaca mora" by the people of the highlands and in one section it was equipped with a rack to overcome the large difference in height.

Cesuna Former Railway Tunnel

Highlight • Structure

The Cesuna gallery is illuminated with lights switched on by photocells. Sometimes they don't snap and so I recommend you have a headlamp. Stop in the cave at the beginning of the tunnel, it's worth it!

Bocchetta Paù Viewpoint

Highlight • Viewpoint

Monte Paù, which in June 1916, the wave of the Austro-Hungarian army was stopped, before spreading towards Schio and Thiene, by the Italian units that had had to withdraw there after the loss of the Cengio node.
Monte Paù was the western tip of the line of maximum resistance Paù-Magnaboschi-Kaberlaba, with a mule track overlooking the valley and with little-known field and tunnel artillery emplacements. Also called Cima del Gallo, it is a relief located on the southernmost edge of the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, in the municipal area of Caltrano, which overlooks the Val d'Astico.

The road of the mountain huts is a classic of the Asiago plateau, traveling along it at sunset in summer is something incredible. At this panoramic point you are under Malga Foraoro and can enjoy a spectacular view.

June 2, 2024,Jeroboam 75 2024
Asiago's jeroboam: I've been waiting for this event since the last edition.
I was so fascinated by the landscapes offered by the plateau, so much so that as soon as registration opened I signed it up straight away.
The weather of the previous days didn't seem to bode well for the day, but at the start of the tour instead …

Followed gravel route suggested by koomot everything perfect 👍

Beautiful ride, pure gravel, with the difference in altitude well distributed over the 73 km. Exciting, spacey ride.

Jeroboam Asiago 2022 which originally was supposed to be 150 km which however I shortened due to severe back pain, as well as being prohibitive for my state of form (I hoped 😁).
In any case, the path is BEAUTIFUL and requires a lot of effort. The part I cut would have been impossible for me to complete. Maybe I'll …

She did it, he did it, come on let's go too... today it is: the fantastic Asiago Plateau.
After just a few turns of the pedal the strange and friendly Elves fountain appears on a panoramic terrace.
Between asphalt and dirt road we arrive at the hexagonal-shaped Votive Church of the Granatieri di Sardegna.
Even from here the view opens …

Beautiful circular tour, starting from Treschè Conca passing through many places linked to history, to the First World War, always immersed in nature and silence with zero traffic. Breathtaking views, overall quiet climbs and so are the descents, most of the itinerary takes place on forest roads and smooth dirt roads, at the end a beautiful stretch on the old …
